February 25, 2013 – Wellington, Florida – Victoria Colvin emerged a winner in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion, picking up a $1,000 bonus from the Canadian riding gloves manufacturer for wearing ‘Digitals’ on her way to victory in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic held Sunday, February 24, at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.

Colvin, who captured her second consecutive USHJA/WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular victory on Saturday night, returned to the competition arena at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning to win the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic, as well as the overall High Junior Jumper Championship.  Riding Waminka, Colvin topped a five-horse jump-off field, posting a clear effort in a time of 38.86 seconds to edge out Emanuel Andrade of Venezuela, who placed second with a time of 39.17 seconds riding the newly-acquired ZZ Top v/h Schaarbroek Z.  While both riders were wearing SSG ‘Digitals’ to be eligible for the bonus money, it was Colvin who took home the cheque for $1,000.

“I think it’s a great idea,” said Colvin, 15, of the SSG promotion.  “I think everyone should wear the gloves because you get the bonus money.  And I made sure that the logo was clearly visible!”

Colvin has become a big fan of the SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves, wearing them in all of her classes.

“I love them,” said Colvin of Loxahatchee, FL.  “They have a nice grip to hold on to the reins, and they’re very comfortable and airy.”

While Colvin won the SSG bonus in the High Junior Jumper Classic, the bonus money went unclaimed in the $15,000 High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.  The bonus money will carry forward to week eight, with $2,000 on offer to the winner of the $15,000 High Amateur-Owner Classic on Saturday, March 2 if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ gloves.

Earlier in the week, Kirsten Coe was awarded an unprecedented $18,000 bonus after winning the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round VII held Thursday, February 21.  The weekly $3,000 bonus had not been awarded since the opening week of competition, and, after six weeks, had accumulated to $18,000.

SSG Riding Gloves offers a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic and the Junior Jumper High Classic competitions.  If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with a cash bonus during the awards presentation.  If not awarded, the bonus money carries forward to the next event in the series.  A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Riding Gloves at the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Beval Saddlery, Hadfield’s Saddlery, Jods and Running Fox.
